About the opportunity
This exciting role is for an inaugural Registrar to the newly formed Gastroenterology Unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital, comprising of 9 Gastroenterologists.
The position will be:
Fixed-Term Full time for 1 year at Werribee Mercy Hospital in the Gastroenterology Department.
Primary focus: Care of gastroenterology inpatients (usually 4-5 at any one time) in a multidisciplinary sense, taking referrals from and providing consultation during hours for Gastroenterology/liver problems to other hospital units and ED and attendance at outpatients in General Gastroenterology (with the possibility of SVH run subspecialty IBD and liver clinics).
Opportunities for training in endoscopy.
Assistance with peri-endoscopy clinical care alongside endoscopy liaison nurses and in the outpatient setting alongside Outpatient ANUMs.
Preparation for and presentation at Unit Radiology and Pathology meetings and ward inpatient and endoscopy audits.
Presentation at Unit Journal clubs and other educational meetings.
Contribution to the unit’s research output including through quality assurance activities and other projects prepared for publication purpose.
Contribution to teaching including of Junior medical staff as well as Notre Dame University Medical students.

MBBS (or equivalent) with General AHPRA registration with FRACP first part written and clinical examination or equivalent.
