About Bright Eyes
Bright Eyes Blue Mountains is a specialist early intervention and psychology clinic based in Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains region of NSW. We provide evidence-based services to children, young people, and their families, with a focus on autism and developmental disability. Our clinical approach draws on applied behaviour analysis (ABA), and we are the only provider of early intensive behavioural intervention in this region.
Our team includes psychologists, behaviour specialists, and therapists who work closely together. We maintain a collegial, well-supervised, and genuinely flexible workplace. We are a growing practice with a strong commitment to clinical quality, staff development, and research.
About the role
This is a senior clinical position combining direct family support work with program supervision, behaviour analytic practice, and staff development. You will work primarily with children and young people with autism and developmental disability and their families, providing a mix of direct intervention, family consultation, school liaison, and assessment.
You will also play a central role in supervising junior staff and therapists, supporting those working towards their behaviour analysis certification, and contributing to the clinical direction of programs across the practice.
This role is well suited to a clinician who wants to work in a collaborative environment, take on meaningful supervisory responsibility, and contribute to a service that genuinely values evidence-based, family-centred care.
Key duties
- Provide direct support to families of children with autism and developmental disability, including skill acquisition programs, behaviour support, and family coaching.
- Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments and develop evidence-based behaviour support plans.
- Design and implement skill acquisition programs utilising the principles of applied behaviour analysis.
- Provide family and school consultations to support generalisation of skills across environments.
- Supervise and train junior staff and therapists, including those working towards BCBA or CBA certification.
- Conduct and contribute to assessments and report writing for a maximum of six client hours per day.
- Work collaboratively with paediatricians, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to coordinate care and meet client goals.
- Actively involve parents and caregivers in program planning and implementation.
- Participate in peer supervision, quality improvement activities, and internal research initiatives.
- Contribute to publication and research opportunities in partnership with our university affiliates.
Qualifications and experience
- Registered as a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or as a Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA) with the Association for Behaviour Analysis Australia (ABAA). Candidates working towards these certifications may be considered.
- A relevant qualification at diploma level or higher, with focus on applied behaviour analysis, psychology, community services, child development, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience working with children and families in disability, early intervention, education, or a related setting.
- Experience providing supervision to colleagues working towards behaviour analysis certification is highly regarded.
- Experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing behaviour support plans.
- Experience working within school or home settings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Research experience or interest in contributing to research and publication is valued.

What we offer
- Annual salary of $85,000 – $95,000 + superannuation, commensurate with experience.
