Full Job Description

Agrico Produce is seeking a hands-on and detail-focused Quality & Food Safety Supervisor to take ownership of product quality across our fresh produce operations.

This is a practical, on-floor role responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained from raw material and pre-harvest assessment through packing, storage and dispatch. You will work closely with Production and Dispatch to identify quality issues early, maintain customer specifications and ensure quality is built into day-to-day operations rather than checked after the fact.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Production & Technical Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct quality inspections across potato and garlic packing lines.
Monitor product quality throughout production and take immediate action when standards are not being met.
Ensure product complies with customer specifications, grading standards and packing requirements.
Identify defects, contamination and non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Conduct pre-harvest test digs and assess crop quality, size, defects, disease and storage suitability.
Monitor incoming raw material quality and report issues that may affect pack-out or yield.
Monitor coolroom and storage conditions including temperature, humidity and airflow.
Conduct regular storage inspections and identify deterioration, rot or quality concerns.
Collect, assess and report on retained product samples.
Maintain accurate quality and traceability records.
Record and report defects, non-conformances and corrective actions.
Identify recurring quality issues and trends and provide clear information to management.
Ensure finished product meets customer quality expectations before release.
Assist with investigation of customer complaints, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain documentation in accordance with HACCP, Freshcare, Sedex and customer requirements.
Assist with internal and external audit preparation and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Maintain high hygiene standards across packing lines, coolrooms, storage areas and facilities.
Work closely with Production and Dispatch to manage quality holds, rework and product release.
Participate in WHS inspections, toolbox talks and continuous improvement activities.

The Role Would Suit

This position would suit an experienced Quality Officer, QA Officer, QC Officer, Food Safety Officer, Quality Coordinator or Quality Team Leader who is ready to take greater ownership of a fresh produce quality function.

You do not need to be someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day. We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, looking at product, identifying problems and working with the team to fix them.
