About the role
As a Ministry Assistant (Children), this is your opportunity to lead and grow a vibrant Children & Families Ministry, discipling children, equipping parents, developing volunteer leaders, and creating meaningful connections that support the Menai Corps and wider church mission.
Reporting to the Ministry Leader, this is a permanent, part-time role offering 15 hours per week, based on-site in Menai, NSW.
How you will make an impact

Lead and oversee engaging children’s ministry programs, events, and outreach activities.

Build strong relationships with children and families, fostering connection to the life of the Corps.

Develop and deliver age-appropriate faith and discipleship pathways for children aged 0–12.

Equip and support parents in nurturing their children’s spiritual growth.

Recruit, develop, and support volunteer leaders, ensuring a safe and positive ministry environment.

Ensure ministry activities comply with TSA policies and maintain accurate records, reporting, and risk management processes.
What you will bring

A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army

An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel

Qualification in Ministry, Theology or related discipline or willingness to obtain or progressing toward a such a qualification (desirable).

Demonstrated experience working with Children in a ministry, pastoral, or community context.

Experience leading, developing, and supporting teams, including the ability to manage people, volunteers, and ministry activities effectively.

A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is required

A current NSW Drivers Licence
-
A current and valid NSW Working With Children Check
