The role of an analyst within a Family Violence Investigation unit (FVIU) is to increase the divisional and tactical level intelligence support for FVIU's to effectively target serious family violence offending.
The FVIU analyst reports to the OIC of the FVIU.

As the successful applicant your duties will include:
- Support family violence investigations through the collation and analysis of information.
- The FVIU analyst will triage Family Violence reports, identifying high risk incidents or parties required to be managed by the FVIU.
- Make high quality recommendations based on the analysis of intelligence and statistical data including identifying factors which contribute to Family Violence Incidents.
- Identify and evaluate emerging patterns and trends.
- Identify, assess and report on specific persons of interest.
- Monitor Persons released from custody and assess the management needs of the person related to reducing Family Violence risks.
- Liaise with and develop good working relationships with potential sources of information from within Victoria Police and externally.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Excellent use of computer systems
- Proven analytical skills
- Proven skills in criminal intelligence
- Excellent understanding of Family Violence practices and services
- Self motivated and shows initiative to work effectively autonomously
- Ability to work in a small team and collaboratively to achieve team goals and reduce risks of serious harm to Victim survivors of Family violence
Further Information:
- One Full time Ongoing position for 38 hours per week
- VPS3: $81,496 - $98,955 per annum plus superannuation
- The usual place of work will be Barwon MDC 59 - 63 Spring Street, Geelong West. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 1, as required.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
