As a Registered Nurse you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Ensure compliance with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) codes, guidelines, and statements for registered nurses
- Perform triage and assessment of Eligible Personnel presenting to the health facility.
- Coordinate/supervise sick parades, including triage, assessment, outpatient, and inpatient treatment.
- Manage patient clinical records in both electronic and paper formats in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures
- Order and maintain clinical stores and pharmaceutical imprest supplies.
- Participate in governance activities including clinical reviews, health surveillance, auditing.
About Robertson
Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15km east of Darwin. It is home to the 1st Brigade & 1st Aviation Regiment. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2800 members, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy and mental health services. It also operates a 22-bed low dependency ward 24/7. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 12 months full-time Post Graduate experience within the previous 5 years in an acute care, primary health care or military setting (or part-time equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality clinical care in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures
- Experience in triage, assessment, and management of patient care in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) codes, guidelines, and statements for registered nurses.
- Ability to effectively coordinate/supervise sick parades, medical appointments, and maintain clinical records in electronic and paper formats.
- Understanding of infection control practices and compliance with Defence and Australian Standards
About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
Please note:
- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
