Full Job Description

SPYDER MOTORS PTY LTD is looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic for our automotive parts, vehicle servicing, and repair operations across NSW, WA in Australia. On a full-time basis, you will be part of a multidisciplinary and well-supported team.

Title: Motor Mechanic, Full-time position

Salary: A$ 90,000.00 to 98,000.00 plus super

Work Location: In person.

We are looking for applicants who demonstrate the following:

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent

Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems

Valid driver’s licence and own transport (preferred)

Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and mechanical diagrams

Physical stamina and strength

Attention to detail and precision

Good communication and teamwork skills

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles using diagnostic equipment and testing tools.

Diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, steering systems, suspension systems, braking systems, and other mechanical components.

Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, suspension components, and other vehicle parts.

Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Reassemble engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components following repairs.

Perform scheduled maintenance and general vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication, and engine tune-ups.

Inspect, repair, and maintain vehicle braking, steering, suspension, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.

Test and adjust repaired components to ensure correct operation, safety, and performance.

Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections to confirm that identified faults have been rectified.

Use hand tools, power tools, vehicle hoists, diagnostic scanners, and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.

Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, diagnostic findings, repairs completed, parts used, and services performed.

Estimate the parts, materials, labour, and time required to complete vehicle repairs and maintenance.

Communicate with supervisors, customers, parts suppliers, and other team members regarding required repairs and vehicle conditions.

Supervise and coordinate with apprentices, junior mechanics, and other workshop employees when required.

Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental procedures, manufacturer specifications, and quality standards.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment during and after the completion of work.

Troubleshoot and resolve workshop and vehicle repair issues efficiently to ensure work is completed within required timeframes.
