Are you an experienced chef with a passion for flavour, creativity, and quality and looking to escape those late nights?
Our busy artisan bakery is looking for a skilled chef to work in our savoury section—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves bringing fresh ideas to the table.

What Makes This Role Special

We’re not just looking for a cook—we’re looking for a creative force. You’ll have the scope to:

Assist in the development of innovative savoury menus alongside our head of savoury
Rotate and refresh our sandwich, pie, and savoury offerings
Bring your passion and at least5 years of qualified experience to create food that excites our customers
Help shape the savoury identity of our bakery with lively, seasonal, and thoughtful menu development

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will include:

Assist in Menu Creation & Quality

Work alongside other team members developing and producing new savoury items—sandwiches, pies, pastries and more
Ensuring every item meets our high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency
Cooking and producing food within essential service timeframes

Daily Operations

Using time management skills to keep your section running smoothly
Working collaboratively with other team members to maintain efficient production
Helping maintain clear communication between kitchen and FOH teams
Contributing to a positive, harmonious work environment.
Work autonomously on certain days, ensuring consistent supply and quality for our retail section

Stock, Ordering & Organisation

Placing produce and stock orders, and managing storage and rotation
Receiving and safely storing deliveries
Assisting with stocktake
Keeping your section and cool room clean, organised, and operating at optimum levels

Cleanliness, Safety & Efficiency

Following established cleaning and waste procedures
Maintaining equipment in good working order
Using food, energy, water, and labour efficiently
Ensuring all food is handled safely and correctly with a strong focus on reducing and minimising waste

What We’re Looking For

Australian resident with no working restrictions,unfortunately we are not offering sponsorship positions for the role at this time
Minimum 5 qualified years experience in a savoury or similar kitchen environment
A passion for creating vibrant, exciting savoury items
Strong organisational and communication skills
Someone who thrives in a busy, structured environment and can keep service smooth and stable
A positive attitude and a collaborative growth mindset
Someone who likes working mornings and days (start time is between 5 and 8am)
