As we continue to secure a robust pipeline of commercial and civil projects, we are seeking a qualified and driven Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Position Purpose
In this role, you will apply your engineering expertise to design, oversee, and manage construction projects across our civil earthworks, stormwater, and commercial maintenance divisions. Your responsibilities will align with the ANZSCO definition of a Civil Engineer, ensuring all projects are structurally sound, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

- Contributes to hazard identification, risk assessment and controls
- Contributes to the effective OHS communication and consultation within the project
- Contributes to the implementation of OHS management systems
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all on site is performed in accordance with Company Work Place Health and Safety and Environment system and legislative requirements.
- Assist with elimination of workplace injuries.
- Assist with project efficiencies.
- Drive a high Quality Product behaviour – “Perform all activities once and the right way”
- Drive on site Zero LTI’s.
- Assist with project target profit margin.
- Assist with completing projects on or before practical completion date 95% of the time.
- Being involved in implementing or creating innovative, cost efficient construction methodologies and techniques.
- Working actively with Foreman and workforce to eliminate the requirement to do activities again.
- Assist the Superintendent and Foreman with tasks delegated by the Project Engineer/Manager.
- Assist with construction programs for projects together with Superintendents and Foreman.
- Continuous monitoring of program throughout the life of the project ensuring milestones are completed on time.
- In conjunction with Superintendents and Foreman, planning the resources required to achieve the construction program (plant, labour and subcontractors) and sourcing.
- Planning and implementing the procurement of materials and subcontractors to achieve construction programs.
- Working with Foreman to recognise variations, quantity increases or decrease and any additional scope of works for the production of appropriate variation correspondence.
- Monitoring day costs for activities with foreman and making adjustments if unit costs are excessive.
- Provide information for end of month project costs report with Project Engineer/Manager.
- Monitor of environmental controls where the risk to the environment is serious enough to require monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification required for ANZSCO recognition).
- Proven experience working on civil construction, bulk earthworks, or stormwater/hydraulics projects. Experience within commercial plumbing or maintenance sectors is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in engineering and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, 12D, or Civil 3D) preferred.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, drainage systems, and structural asset management.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, project managers, and onsite trades.
- Valid driver’s license and Construction Induction White Card. Professional registration (e.g., Engineers Australia, RPEQ/NER) is a distinct advantage.
