Location: Parramatta, NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive salary package, based on experience. 482 sponsorship for the right candidate

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef for our restaurant Neyvine Seafood & Grill to lead our kitchen operations and take our food offering to the next level.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef who is not only passionate about producing high-quality food but also enjoys leading a team, developing menus, controlling food costs and driving the overall success of the kitchen.

You will play a key role in maintaining consistently high food standards while ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently, professionally and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and manage the kitchen team
Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations
Develop and maintain high-quality menus
Create new dishes and seasonal menu concepts
Manage food preparation, presentation and quality
Maintain consistent portion sizes and food standards
Monitor food costs, wastage and gross profit
Manage ordering, stock control and supplier relationships
Maintain appropriate food safety and hygiene standards
Ensure compliance with Australian food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
Train and develop kitchen staff
Manage kitchen rosters and labour requirements
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
Work closely with management to achieve business and financial targets
Stay up to date with current food trends and industry developments

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, seafood restaurant experience is preferable but not compulsory.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent knowledge of food preparation and presentation
Experience with menu development and menu costing
Strong understanding of food costs, stock control and wastage
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A passion for quality food and customer satisfaction
The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
A strong understanding of food safety and HACCP principles
Relevant Australian culinary qualifications or equivalent experience
A professional, positive and hands-on approach
