- Laboratory Supervisor (Automotive)

Team Leadership
o Management of direct and indirect reports to ensure the team delivers projects on time with quality.
o Ensure a sense of urgency is present at all times.

Technical Leadership
o Skilled technical leadership across engineering disciplines related to the field of automotive test engineering and automotive processes.
o Analyze laboratory and project workflows, project functions, and team responsibilities to improve operational efficiency and eliminate duplication of effort.
o Create and maintain effective test processes compliant with automotive standards and relevant ISO/TS/IATF standards.
o Ensure test processes are adhered to in accordance with relevant ISO/TS/IATF standards.
o Mentor staff to ensure they are producing quality work compliant with project and process requirements. Recommend process improvements based on engineering analysis to increase productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
o Act as a key interface between engineering, other MLUMEN departments, suppliers, and customers with respect to facility and test deliverables.
o Support the development of core project documentation including project scope, brief, deliverables, timing plan, and cost targets.
o Lead the 8D issue resolution process for test issues.
o Develop and implement laboratory productivity and resource improvement initiatives to optimize resource allocation.
o Analyze workforce utilization, operational data, facility layout, and testing schedules to improve workflow efficiency and equipment performance.
Lab facility management
o Maintain 5S standards to a high level.
o Plan, evaluate and optimize laboratory and facility layouts to improve workflow, equipment utilization, and operational efficiency.
o Coordinate maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment and facilities to ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize downtime.
o Conduct regular inspections of laboratory equipment and facilities to ensure optimum performance, reliability and compliance with engineering and safety standards.
o Coordinate the procurement and delivery of materials, equipment and laboratory resources required to support project activities.
Product Testing - Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) and End of Line Production
o Create Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and other test documentation.
o Plan, schedule and allocate staff, internal and external laboratory resources to complete DVP&R validation activities, including vibration, mechanical shock, drop, tensile, scratch, environmental, durability and reliability related testing, in accordance with agreed DVP&R timing, customer, industry and regulatory requirements.
o Provide quotations on test activities.
o Design and improve test equipment, product and laboratory systems to support product validation and manufacturing requirements to internal and external [customer] standards, at a reasonable rate of completion, using internal and external facilities, to determine products are fit for purpose and meet customer, performance and quality expectations while minimizing liability to the company with respect to warranty and recalls.
o Analyze testing processes and operational performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost. Report on test progress and outcomes at a frequency determined by management.
o Peer review and provide technical input on test plans and reports before release to ensure designs meet functional and quality requirements.
o Design, record, and build Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) testers.
o Develop engineering specifications for test equipment, fixtures, including determining appropriate materials, equipment capacities, and system requirements.
o Establish and maintain engineering standards for installation, modification, testing, inspection, and maintenance activities in accordance with relevant engineering principles, automotive standards, and safety regulations.
Others
o Maintain confidentiality of MLUMEN commercial information.
o Ensure prompt escalation to management on issues that negatively affect team morale, project status, or workflow.
o Travel as required.
o Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, maintenance schedules, and technical reports to support continuous improvement and compliance activities.
o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives relating to facility performance, process optimization, labor efficiency, and resource utilization.
