About the Role
The Property and Commercial Partnerships Branch play a vital role in managing and optimising Sunshine Coast Council's diverse property portfolio. Supporting the delivery of Council's strategic objectives, the branch oversees land management, tenancy administration, property transactions and commercial partnerships that contribute to sustainable growth across the region. Working within a dynamic and collaborative environment, the team helps ensure Council's land and property assets deliver long-term value for the community.
As a Property Officer, you will contribute to the effective management of Council's extensive land, property and tenancy portfolio. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work with a broad range of stakeholders, provide property advice, coordinate tenancy and land management activities, and support property transactions that help maximise the value and utilisation of Council-owned assets. Key Responsibilities
- Manage operational property and tenancy activities across commercial, community, cultural, sporting and residential holdings.
- Facilitate tenancy compliance, lease administration, negotiations and property record management.
- Assess and support land management matters, including easements, road closures and land use approvals.
- Provide property advice, prepare reports and engage with internal and external stakeholders on property-related matters.
This position is based at Sunshine Coast City Hall , in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
About you
- You bring qualifications in property, real estate, land management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience working in a property-focused role. Experience within government or a similarly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
- You have a solid understanding of property, land and tenancy legislation and can confidently interpret policies, procedures and compliance requirements while delivering practical outcomes.
- You are a strong communicator who builds productive relationships with customers, tenants, government agencies, professional consultants and internal stakeholders. Collaboration and customer service are at the heart of how you work.
- You combine sound commercial judgement with strong financial and administrative skills, and you're confident using business systems, databases and Microsoft Office to manage information, prepare reports and support decision-making.
