Are you an experienced Scrub Scout looking to work with advanced robotic technology, complex surgical procedures and leading General, Gynaecology and Urology specialists?
At St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital, you'll be part of a high-performing Theatre team delivering exceptional care across a diverse range of specialties. As one of Queensland's leading robotic surgery centres, you'll have the opportunity to develop highly sought-after skills while working alongside experienced surgeons using the latest surgical technology.
This is an exciting opportunity to build expertise in robotic-assisted surgery while caring for patients undergoing a broad range of complex and minimally invasive procedures.
As part of our General, Gynae, Urology team, you'll gain exposure to:
Robotic Surgery
- Two Da Vinci robotic surgical systems
- Medtronic Hugo™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) system
- Advanced robotic-assisted surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Robotic docking, instrumentation and theatre workflow
General Surgery
- Upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery
- Colorectal surgery
- Hepatobiliary procedures
- Hernia surgery
- Endocrine surgery
- Complex laparoscopic and open procedures
Gynaecology
- Advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery
- Benign gynaecological procedures
- Complex pelvic surgery
- Endometriosis surgery
- Hysterectomy and pelvic reconstructive procedures
- Pelvic Medicine services
Urology
- Robotic prostatectomy
- Partial and radical nephrectomy
- Pyeloplasty
- Reconstructive urology
- Endourology
- Complex minimally invasive urological procedures

What Makes a Difference for Us?
- Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
- Previous Scrub Scout experience in General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology or another acute surgical specialty highly regarded.
- Previous robotic surgery experience, particularly with Da Vinci or Medtronic Hugo robotic systems, is highly desirable.
- Experience in Gynaecology, Pelvic Medicine or Urology will be highly regarded.
- Interest in developing advanced skills in robotic-assisted surgery with ongoing education and support.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
- Desire for ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
- Strong communication, teamwork and adaptability within a multidisciplinary theatre environment.
- Australian working rights (we are unable to offer sponsorship currently).
- Availability to work across AM and PM shifts with participation in an on-call roster.
- Willingness to meet vaccination and immunisation requirements in line with hospital infection prevention and control standards.
