Research Brisbane Full Time Research at Icon Group

Gain exposure in established phase 1 medical oncology clinical trial unit and access to leading technology in both Oncology and Haematology, based out of our Icon Cancer Centre in South Brisbane

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to join our collaborative research team based at the Icon Cancer Centre in South Brisbane. This is an amazing chance to work in a high-volume oncology and haematology clinical trial unit, along with gaining experience in phase 1 oncology clinical trials and access to leading technology. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Icon’s growing cellular therapies program.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high level support to Icon Principal Investigators in the conduct and day to day management of clinical trials
Manage and conduct the clinical trial portfolio including the trial coordination, recruitment, participant and team member education and communication
Ensure that clinical research carried out within Icon is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, the NHMRC National Statement and Icon policies
Contribute to the financial management of the business unit to ensure that trial participants are tracked, and patient payment data is submitted in a timely fashion
Communicate effectively with trial participants to ensure that trial related procedures are booked appropriately and compliance to attendance for trial visits is maintained
Actively attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders

About You
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual who can independently solve problems and build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. You will be able to manage your workload effectively and communicate confidently across multidisciplinary teams.

Whilst we will provide full training in clinical trials, our ideal candidate may have:

Previous research or clinical trials experience (highly desirable)
Tertiary qualifications in health sciences, biomedical science, pharmacy, nursing, or a related field
Pharmacy experience (highly desirable)
Oncology or haematology experience
Haematology clinical trials experience and/or experience in cellular therapies will be highly regarded

To help deliver a robust trials portfolio, Icon Group work with over 200 collaborators including Contract Research Organisations (CROs), commercial and non-commercial organisations (including the pharmaceutical industry hospital and universities), industry vendors and service providers. We deliver Phase I to Phase IV clinical trials sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry and collaborative groups, as well as in-house investigator-initiated trials across our multidisciplinary clinical team, clinical registries, compounding, physics and dosimetric research.

Icon’s growing research footprint is comprised of over 90 principal investigators working across 20 cancer centres in Australia, with a comprehensive workforce of experienced researchers and administrative team members who support clinicians and the delivery of clinical trials across several Icon locations.
