This is an opportunity to join a specialist, trauma‑informed Sexual Assault Service as a Level 3 Sexual Assault Counsellor, providing compassionate, evidence‑based support to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual violence. The role works directly with victim‑survivors at critical points in their recovery, delivering counselling, crisis intervention and therapeutic support that prioritises safety, choice and empowerment.As a Level 3 Counsellor, you will provide client‑centred, strengths‑based interventions within a multidisciplinary team, supporting individuals across diverse backgrounds and stages of healing. The role contributes to both immediate and longer‑term recovery outcomes, while upholding best practice, ethical standards and culturally responsive care.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and values‑driven professional who is committed to supporting victim‑survivors of sexual violence through high‑quality, trauma‑informed care. You will be an experienced counselor who brings empathy and professionalism, while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications - Either a Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas) or Bachelor degree in Health related field with an emphasis on human behaviour, psychosocial development and counselling.
Describe your understanding of trauma‑informed, survivor‑centred practice when working with people who have experienced sexual assault. In your response, outline how you would engage a client safely and respectfully, maintain professional boundaries, and work within your scope of practice while contributing to their recovery
This role works within a multidisciplinary Sexual Assault Service supporting clients with complex needs. Provide an example of how you have worked collaboratively with colleagues and/or external services, while managing documentation, confidentiality and self‑care in emotionally demanding work.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P. Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
