About us

SASS Support Services Pty Ltd (SASScare) is a fast-growing provider of quality NDIS services across Melbourne and Regional Victoria. We support NDIS participants in their homes, within the local community, and Ironstone Hill our disability inclusive activity farm.

We are seeking a Trainee Care Coordinator to join our team at our Bendigo Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, positive and solution-focused individual who is passionate about person-centred support and looking to develop their career in the disability sector.

About the Role

As a Trainee Care Coordinator, you will work closely with participants, support workers, families, management and external stakeholders to coordinate safe, consistent and high-quality services.

You will oversee and support a team of disability support workers, helping ensure services are delivered in accordance with participants’ NDIS Plans, service agreements and the NDIS Code of Conduct.

This traineeship also provides flexible time to complete a Certificate in Community Services, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build their skills and progress their career in community and disability services.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Maintain professional relationships with external agencies, and actively seek new referrals to grow business.
Provide information to support staff in relation to Care Plans and staff training.
Monitoring programs to ensure that they adhere to the participant’s NDIS plan, to enable SASScare to work towards helping to achieve the participant’s goals through our support services.
Development of participant reports as requested.
Ensure staff satisfaction through regular (monthly) 1:1 supervision and/or communication.
Ensure that the level of care provided to all participants is in adherence with the NDIS code of conduct.
Creation of program rosters as per service agreement, ensuring accurate and timely publishing. This may also involve working with and supervising other rostering staff.
Fulfillment of shift vacancies, and arranging replacement staff to cover planned and unplanned absences and shift changes.
In support of the payroll team, verifying timesheets of disability support staff against participant rosters to ensure data is accurate and approved in a timely manner.
In collaboration with the HR department (training), development and implementation of staff individual training schedules.
Identify and report to department head, areas of recruitment & retention needed.
Assist HR department (recruitment) with recruitment when required.
Availability to fulfill on-call and after hours on a rotating roster.
Travel as required.

Previous experience in disability or community services is highly regarded, but we are also interested in applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, values and willingness to learn.

Key Selection Criteria

A demonstrated understanding of providing day-to-day support as directed by management and in line with the clients NDIS Plan
Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people in a variety of situations.
Ability to lead by example, coach and lead employees to deliver KPIs.
Ability to identify and implement creative solutions to meet the clients needs
Demonstrated ability to be well organised with excellent time management skills

Location: Bendigo Head Office
Employment Type: Full-time Traineeship
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Rate: SCHADS Award Traineeship Rate 1.3 – $29.45 per hour
