West Gippsland Healthcare Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Hospital Coordinator team.
The Hospital Coordinator is a senior clinical and operational leadership role responsible for coordinating organisation-wide operations on a 24/7 basis. The role provides oversight of patient flow, bed management, workforce coordination, operational escalation, clinical risk management and emergency response, ensuring safe, timely and effective care across the organisation.
As a key operational leader, the Hospital Coordinator works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders to support service delivery, patient access, organisational safety and after-hours governance across hospital, aged care and community services.
Casual employees are engaged on an as-needed basis to support leave coverage and additional operational requirements. Shifts may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends and public holidays. Casual employment does not guarantee regular or ongoing hours.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Substantial post-registration clinical experience, including nursing leadership or management experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate clinical operations within a complex healthcare environment.
Strong understanding of patient flow, bed management, workforce coordination and operational risk management.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to make sound decisions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence and organisational values.
Desirable
Previous experience as a Hospital Coordinator or in a similar senior operational leadership role.
Postgraduate qualifications in nursing, leadership, management or a related field, or working towards completion.
Experience in emergency management, incident management and organisational escalation processes.
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
