About the role
As a Ministry Worker, this is your opportunity to support the mission of The Salvation Army by developing and delivering meaningful ministry activities across Cairns and Atherton.
Reporting to the Corp Officer, this is a casual role, located in Cairns, QLD.
How you will make an impact

Lead and deliver ministry programs, appeals (e.g. Christmas Cheer), and outreach activities aligned with mission goals

Provide Emergency Relief support through the Doorways program in line with policies

Coordinate rosters, volunteers, and trainees, including recruitment, training, and engagement

Maintain accurate records, reports, and data in compliance with TSA policies and procedures

Foster community partnerships and contribute to pastoral care, discipleship, and leadership activities

Support program operations, including budgeting, fundraising, safety, and general administrative responsibilities
What you will bring
-
A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army. An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel.

Tertiary or other qualifications, (Cert IV or Diploma level), in Theology, teaching, social work, or community services, or relevant experience.

Experience and exposure in mentoring, coaching and the ability to disciple others

Experience and exposure in developing programs, workshops and working with non-churched youth from a variety of cultural backgrounds and low-socio economic backgrounds.

Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups

A member / soldier of a local Salvation Army Corps

A current and valid working with Children’s Check / Blue card

Current Drivers Licence
