This particular role sits with IPS (Infrastructure Project Solutions), a Sequana Group Company.
At Infrastructure Project Solutions (IPS), in addition to providing services in traditional infrastructure delivery, IPS also provides specialist engineering and complex construction execution services. Currently, IPS is looking for an experienced and technically skilled Senior Design Drafter to join our Engineering & Technical Services team.
Working closely with design engineers and project managers, the Senior Design Drafter will take ownership of complex drafting documentation packages, lead CAD / BIM production workflows, and provide guidance to junior drafting staff. The successful candidate will bring deep familiarity with civil drafting conventions, water industry standards, and Queensland water authority requirements, along with proficiency in industry standard design and software.
WHAT YOU DO

Produced detailed engineering drawings for water supply and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, reservoirs, and reticulation networks.
- Develop and manage drawing sets across all project phases - concept, preliminary, detailed design, issued for construction (IFC), and as constructed.
- Act as a CAD / BIM lead or coordinator on projects, managing model integrity, file structures, and drawing production workflows.
- Develop and maintain project specific CAD templates, title blocks, layer standards, and drawing conventions.
- Coordinate drawing production across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure spatial and design consistency.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve drawing conflicts, clashes, or discrepancies in collaboration with engineers.
- Conduct self checking and peer review of drawings prior to formal issue to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
- Maintain drawing quality in accordance with the organisation's QA / QC management system and project specific quality plans.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and technical mentoring to intermediate and graduate drafters within the team.
WHO YOU ARE
Candidates should possess:

Associate Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Drafting / Design Technology), or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 7 years of post qualification experience in civil engineering drafting, with demonstrated experience in water and / or wastewater infrastructure projects in Queensland.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or 12d for civil and mechanical drafting.
- Strong understanding of civil drafting conventions, drawing standards, and document control requirements relevant to water infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience preparing IFC drawing packages and managing drawing registers on infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of Queensland utility standards (e.g. SEQ Code, Seqwater, local government water businesses).
- Excellent attention to detail with strong spatial awareness and the ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into accurate drawings.
