An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, committed and customer service focused Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Fiddlers Green. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys actively contributing to day-to-day maintenance while leading from the front.
Fiddlers Green is a vibrant and welcoming retirement community set amongst beautifully maintained gardens in the heart of leafy Berwick. Our residents enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle, supported by quality amenities, wellbeing services, and a diverse range of social activities and events.
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our community remains safe, functional, and visually appealing for residents, visitors, and team members. From overseeing preventative maintenance programs to maintaining the high presentation standards of our homes, serviced apartments, and communal facilities, you’ll help create an environment where residents can truly enjoy their retirement lifestyle.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering the chance to work alongside a supportive and collaborative team, with the added benefit of no weekend work and a great work-life balance.
Reporting to the Senior Village Manager, your duties will include;
- Coordinating and completing maintenance tasks, repairs, and routine inspections across residential properties
- Delivering general maintenance support, including minor repairs, installations and troubleshooting
- Responding to resident maintenance requests promptly, professionally and with clear communication
- Ensuring full compliance with EHS procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and contractors
- Liaising with external contractors to ensure all work orders are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Assisting with gardening and grounds maintenance tasks as required to ensure the village presents to a high standard
- Assisting with bin responsibilities and ensuring communal areas remain clean and tidy
- Maintaining accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and updating internal systems and databases accordingly
- Village bus duties including providing safe transportation of our residents, ensuring bus safety compliance and maintenance
- Assisting with various ad hoc tasks and operational needs as directed by the Senior Village Manager
Who You Are
To be successful in the role, you will:
- Be organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Have effective communication skills for interacting with residents and staff in a friendly, professional manner
- Have a genuine interest in assisting the independent living seniors
- Have an excellent understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job
- Demonstrated trade skills, with strong emphasis on hands-on experience highly regarded
- Have a current MR Drivers Licence or higher
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
- Be computer literate e.g. intermediate/basic knowledge with using Word, Excel, Outlook apps and internal maintenance system
- Have the ability to take initiative and be pro-active
- Have the ability to work individually and in a team
Relevant internal training and inductions will be provided to the successful candidate on-site.
