Join our Confluence Maintenance team as a Project Engineer, where you will play a key role in delivering the Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) program across Sydney Water's wastewater treatment plants. You will oversee the planning and execution of maintenance projects across facilities servicing the Norwest, Rouse Hill, Castle Hill, Manly, Lower Hawkesbury, Hornsby Heights, West Hornsby and Warriewood regions.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, maintenance teams and Sydney Water, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with quality, budget and schedule requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Deliver the MPM program across an allocated portfolio of wastewater treatment plants.

Manage project delivery, including safety, quality, schedule, cost, forecasting, billing, reporting and compensation events within approved budgets.

Manage changes to project scope, schedule and cost, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

Act as the primary liaison between Confluence Maintenance and the Sydney Water Hub.

Ensure all required reviews, approvals and workflows are completed before procurement or site works commence.

Resolve or coordinate the escalation of MPM project issues.

Collaborate with maintenance, operations and planning teams to optimise maintenance practices, scheduling and resource allocation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Candidates from other engineering disciplines will also be considered if they have demonstrated experience in maintenance and major overhauls within wastewater treatment plants.

A current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.

Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment used within the water and wastewater industry, including pumps, screens, grit handling systems, mechanical pipework, valves, fittings and associated infrastructure.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and changing priorities.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project scheduling software such as Primavera.
