As a Senior ML Engineer, you'll play a key role in advancing Alinta Energy's machine learning capabilities within our Data & AI Platforms team. Working on a world-leading Data & AI platform built on Azure and Databricks, you'll collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to bring machine learning solutions into production across trading, forecasting, pricing, retail and enterprise initiatives. You'll design and optimise ML pipelines, deploy and monitor models at scale, and help shape the future of MLOps at Alinta. This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide.

What you’ll do
- Design, build and optimise machine learning pipelines and production workflows
- Deploy, monitor and maintain machine learning models in Azure and Databricks environments
- Implement MLOps practices including CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring and automated retraining
- Develop scalable data pipelines, feature engineering processes and ML-ready data structures
- Partner with data scientists to productionise research models and accelerate value delivery
- Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to deliver ML-enabled solutions
- Mentor peers and contribute to ML engineering and MLOps best practices across the team
Your experience
- Extensive commercial experience in machine learning engineering, data engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, MLflow, Azure, Python and Spark
- Strong knowledge of MLOps practices including deployment, monitoring, CI/CD and model lifecycle management
- Experience delivering production-grade machine learning solutions at scale
- Background building data pipelines, ELT/ETL frameworks and cloud-based data platforms
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, code review and continuous improvement
- Collaborative stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
