Primary objective
Provide coordinated education programs, sound clinical and education advice, and may provide direct clinical care for complex client
presentations within the specialty area.
Context statement
This role will assist to coordinate and deliver evidenced based education services to multidisciplinary teams involved in the care of
paediatric patients within inpatient and outpatient areas of Royal Darwin Palmerston Hospitals. This includes collaboration with interstate
organisations and education providers. The role also includes the provision of clinical supervision and support to staff within the paediatric
wards and outpatient settings and the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement projects to improve service
provision.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide specialist education advice and support professional development activities within a defined area of practice.
2. Provide direct support, instruction, and feedback, including mentoring students, graduates, and less experienced staff, across the
multidisciplinary team.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated highly developed clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in a relevant area of nursing/midwifery.
3. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development and/or delivery of education theory and practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education and professional development for the specialist
practice area.
5. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external
stakeholders and facilitate a positive learning environment.
6. Demonstrates well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence
health care provision for individuals and groups.
Desirable
1. Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty area.
