About the role
The Workplace Technology Engineer (SOE/Intune) is a hybrid role responsible for managing and maintaining the Standard Operating Environments (SOE), supporting endpoint compliance, and overseeing Microsoft Intune profiles. This role includes a focus on automating workflows, monitoring device health, and troubleshooting endpoint hardware and operating system issues.
In addition, the incumbent will provide guidance and mentoring to junior Workplace Technology team members and be a key contributor to achieving NHVR’s compliance and operational objectives. While the primary focus is on SOE and Intune responsibilities, the incumbent is expected to support broader Workplace Technology / EUC activities as required.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Support the management and maintenance of Standard Operating Environments (SOE): Maintain and update SOE images, ensuring compliance with organisational requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage Microsoft Intune Profiles: Oversee compliance baselines, device enrolments, and application deployment.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain PowerShell or Intune scripting solutions to automate repetitive tasks, improve system efficiency, and enhance compliance.
- Monitor Device Health: Track infrastructure and endpoint health metrics (e.g., disk space, CPU/memory utilisation) and escalate trends where necessary.
- Troubleshoot Hardware and Software Issues: Investigate and resolve issues at the endpoint level, including laptops, desktops, docking stations, and related hardware (e.g., BIOS/firmware).
- Mobile Device and MFA Support: Provide support for mobile devices, including managing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enrolments and resets.
- Backups and Audits: Perform regular validation of backups, patch verifications, compliance audits, and server access reviews to maintain operational integrity.

About You
To be successful in this role you will possess
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining Standard Operating Environments (SOE) and Intune profiles.
- Proven expertise in PowerShell scripting for automation and task efficiency.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting endpoint hardware and software, including BIOS and firmware updates.
- Familiarity with monitoring and managing asset inventories using systems such as ServiceNow/CMDB.
- IT qualifications or similar
Highly Regarded
- Certifications such as Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent.
- Experience mentoring junior IT professionals, particularly in endpoint management workflows.
- Knowledge of mobile device and MFA management, particularly in resolving enrolment or access issues.
- Previous involvement in auditing and maintaining endpoint compliance against organisational policies.
