Dewatering Operator / Polywelder

Our Opportunity

Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples

Roster: 7D7R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

Reporting to the Solomon Water Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of dewatering and water services for operational mining. You will be joining a team of committed people who share a vision of being highly efficient, while maintaining the highest level of safety in a large-scale dewatering environment.

Key Responsibilities

In-pit sump pump installation and development
Machinery operation for daily tasks (I.T loader, telehandler, excavator, light and medium rigid trucks)
Poly welding/fabrication, bore installations and removals, diesel pump set up/relocations
Pipeline isolations and poly tie ins
Water line valve replacements
Removal of dewatering assets to align with blasting scheduling
Identify faults with water network and create SAP notifications to the respective engineering and maintenance discipline

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in water services operations including bore fields, mine plans and equipment isolations
Experience in HDPE piping projects
High Risk Qualifications DG CN LF desired
Chainsaw qualification
Previous experience/tickets for IT Loader and similar equipment
Computer proficiency in Microsoft office, SAP and BMS (desired)
