The Opportunity
As we further develop our Research Strategy, we now have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Data Analyst to join our Information Communication Technology team. In this newly created role, you will support a major enterprise system implementation project that aligns with our digital, data and business transformation initiatives. You will ensure organisational data is accurate, trusted, accessible, and fit for purpose.
Working collaboratively with researchers, business stakeholders, technology teams and external partners, the position contributes to data migration, analysis, validation, governance, classification and reporting activities that support effective workflows, informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Through these activities, you will establish the data foundations required to support operational excellence, research innovation and improved outcomes for children and families.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop data capture, storage and analysis workflows.
- Identify data sources, define structures and develop data mapping specifications and transformation logic from legacy systems to a new research management platform.
- Identify duplicates, inconsistencies and lead data cleansing and standardisation activities with relevant Subject Matter Experts.
- Develop and deliver reports, dashboards and visualisations to communicate data insights early.
Work collaboratively with implementation partners, software vendors and business stakeholders to support successful delivery of technology initiatives.

Based in our offices within Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this role may be offered on a part-time (0.5 FTE) to full-time basis for an 18-month period.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or Business Analytics. You will also demonstrate:
- Strong data management, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Experience in data migration, data mapping, data cleansing, validation and reconciliation activities.
- Experience using SQL, Excel and other data analysis tools to extract, manipulate and analyse data.
- Ability to develop and maintain data dictionaries, mapping specifications, business rules and related documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into data solutions.
