PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Respond to media queries, develop and implement communication plans and source PR opportunities to promote Power and Water Corporation’s
initiatives, investments and achievements, in line with the organisation’s vision and values, to enhance corporate reputation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
- Provide the first point of contact to effectively manage media queries.
- Develop and implement communications plans, media briefs for our shareholder and portfolio Ministers, and media releases to positively
profile Power and Water projects, programs, and initiatives to align with and reflect our purpose, vision, and brand.
- Identify and respond to the media and communications needs of a range of stakeholders, including remote communities, the general public,
business units, the Strategic Leadership Group and Executive Leadership Team.
- Provide timely and strategic media and communications advice to the Senior Manager Corporate Affairs and Corporate Affairs Manager on
emerging issues and risks.
- Manage media and communications plans and projects with consideration to effective planning, and resourcing management.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders that supports a collaborative approach.
- Identify and manage effective working relationships with a range of journalists and media outlets in support of Power and Water’s reputation.
- Provide general communications support, including internal communications and social media, as required.
- Manage and support media on-call communications, and media reporting, as required.
- Participate in the on-call unplanned outages roster, as required.
- Contribute to the Corporate Affairs team successfully delivering its strategic outcomes.
- Perform duties in accordance with Power and Water's safety and environmental policy, safety principles, corporate values, and behaviours.
