Position Title Gymnastics Coach
Reporting Manager Head of Gymnastics
Role Purpose The Gymnastics Coach is responsible for delivering quality, engaging and
educational gymnastics instruction and coaching sessions to students,
ensuring programs are safe and are professionally delivered in accordance
with program requirements whilst ensuring high levels of customer service
are maintained.
Specific Duties and
Responsibilities
Actively support the Christian ethos of the school, modelling a Christian
example in all activities.
As a member of the Danebank Sports Team this position is specifically
responsible for:
- Conduct training sessions appropriate for the level of students and
in line with program expectations that are high quality, safe, fun
and engaging.
- Provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
- Assist the Head of Gymnastics in the development of new and
existing programs.
- Set up and pack away equipment and other materials as necessary
for training sessions.
- Evaluate students against set criteria.
- Participate in covering roster to facilitate other coach absences.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all policies and procedures and
perform all activities as per these policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as required by the Head of Gymnastics,
within the limits of skill, competencies and training.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance.

- Ability and willingness to utilise and reflect Christian principles and
values throughout the Gymnastics Program.
- Capacity to work with a diverse range of school age young people.
- Passion for Gymnastics, and experience guiding and supporting
girls, adolescents and young women.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills so as to develop
positive relationships with staff, students, parents and other
coaches.
- Willingness to embrace challenges.
- Warmth, flexibility, empathy, energy and good humour.
Essential Qualifications Essential
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Relevant Coaching Accreditation or willingness to attain
Accreditation
- Completion of General Principles of Coaching Course (or
willingness to complete this course)
Desirable
First Aid & CPR Certification.
Other Relevant Information Positions are on a casual basis with coaching generally conducted during
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3.00 pm - 6.45 pm
