About the role:
As we continue to embed our use of technology into the legal services we deliver to our clients, we are looking for a specialist who designs, builds and optimises technology-enabled legal service solutions by combining process engineering, automation, data analytics and AI with a deep understanding of how legal work is performed.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of law and technology, shaping how legal services are delivered at scale across a national firm.
You will report into our CIO and Managing Partner and work closely with partners, lawyers, our IT teams and our AI Partners to design, build and maintain high-quality, reusable legal workflows, prompts, agents and toolkits that improve efficiency, consistency, quality and client outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Championing responsible technology and AI practices by contributing to governance, risk management and compliance standards across the practice.
- Engaging with lawyers to understand their practice areas and client needs.
- Designing end-to-end technology solutions to support the delivery of high quality legal services to clients and drive internal efficiencies.
- Partnering with legal practitioners and other stakeholders to encourage adoption, gather feedback and continuously improve solutions based on operational experience.
- Collaborating with our technology trainers to provide education, coaching and day-to-day support to lawyers and business services teams in the effective use of AI and digital tools.
- Curating and maintaining a controlled repository of templates, workflows and digital assets, ensuring appropriate oversight and ongoing development.
About you:
Success in this role will require a blend of legal expertise, technology fluency, commercial awareness, emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for helping others adopt or refine new ways of working. The following characteristics will be key:
- You have experience improving legal processes, designing workflows, developing knowledge assets and implementing technology-enabled solutions within a professional services or legal environment.
- You can quickly understand complex legal, operational or technical concepts and translate them into practical, intuitive solutions that deliver measurable value.
- You are a strong relationship builder with high emotional intelligence, enabling you to establish credibility, navigate different stakeholder perspectives and influence outcomes effectively.
- You communicate with confidence and clarity, tailoring your approach to audiences with varying levels of technical capability and experience.
- You enjoy working collaboratively with lawyers, knowledge professionals and business services teams to solve problems and drive innovation.
- You are customer-focused and naturally curious, seeking to understand user needs and continuously improve processes, tools and experiences.
- You are comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where technologies, priorities and opportunities are evolving rapidly.
- You bring a growth mindset, a willingness to experiment and learn, and the resilience to adapt when solutions require refinement.
- You are genuinely enthusiastic about the potential of technology, automation and artificial intelligence to transform legal service delivery.
- You hold a law degree and ideally have practical legal experience and a strong academic background.
