The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support the ongoing sustainment, enhancement and engineering governance of a complex Defence capability platform.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will provide technical leadership across systems engineering, engineering change, configuration management and platform sustainment activities. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical Defence capabilities while working closely with customers, engineering teams and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake and lead technical investigations relating to platform systems.
- Develop and review technical instructions, engineering reports and supporting documentation.
- Support verification and validation activities associated with engineering changes and technical data.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop design requirements and support engineering change activities.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and provide technical input into upgrade and sustainment projects.
- Act as an engineering representative for design acceptance and technical governance activities.
- Support configuration management activities and maintenance planning.
- Prepare and review work instructions, maintenance schedules and engineering documentation.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior engineers and graduate team members.
About You
- Demonstrated experience within Systems Engineering in Defence or other complex engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of engineering change management, verification and validation processes.
- Experience working within structured engineering governance frameworks.
- Ability to develop high-quality technical documentation and reports.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Required
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Eight or more years of experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
- Experience supporting capability sustainment, platform upgrades or complex asset management programs.
- Knowledge of configuration management and certification-related activities.
