Lead the Way in Acute Mental Health Nursing | Associate Nurse Unit Manager
Flinders Medical Centre's Acute/Mood team is looking for an experienced and dynamic registered nurse ready to move into a leadership role that makes a real difference to community mental health care across Adelaide's southern metro region. As Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you'll guide and support a dedicated nursing team while championing recovery-oriented, person-centred care for consumers at some of their most vulnerable moments.
About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager, this role is responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers.
Duties for the role will include:
Providing proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area,
Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
Assisting and supporting the Team Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,
Planning and coordinating services within the multi-disciplinary team,
Acting to resolve local and/or immediate clinical care or service delivery problems
About you:
Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice,
Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
Demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
