Are you a Child and Family Health Nurse with experience in clinical management, a passion for early intervention, leadership, and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families?
We are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 (NUM to lead the Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) Program, a nurse-led, evidence-based home visiting service that supports vulnerable families from pregnancy until a child reaches two years of age.
As the SNF Program NUM, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based home visiting services across Western Sydney. You will lead service development, workforce planning, clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and key stakeholder partnerships, while overseeing clinical operations, reporting, workload management, and staffing. In this role, you will ensure families receive safe, effective, and responsive care and contribute to improved outcomes for children and families experiencing vulnerability.

Based across Merrylands and Doonside Community Health Centres, the Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 (NUM – Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) Program provides strategic, operational and clinical leadership across three SNF Hubs in Western Sydney.
What you'll be doing
As the Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) Program Nurse Unit Manager (NUM, you will provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership across three SNF Hubs in Western Sydney. The SNF Program supports vulnerable families from pregnancy until their child reaches two years of age, with the aim of enhancing parental wellbeing and capacity to care safely for their children while promoting optimal health, developmental, social and emotional outcomes.
In this role, you will lead and support a multidisciplinary child and family health workforce, oversee referrals, intake and service delivery, provide clinical supervision and consultation, facilitate case review processes, and support complex clinical decision-making. You will drive quality improvement and service development initiatives, manage workforce planning and resource allocation, ensure compliance with clinical governance and performance requirements, and foster strong partnerships with health and community stakeholders. The role also has responsibility for service monitoring, reporting and achievement of key performance indicators to ensure safe, effective and responsive care for children and families.

- License: Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW
- Registration: Registered Nurse (Division with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
1. Current Authority to Practise as a Registered Nurse (Division with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); demonstrated qualifications or experience in Child & Family Health Nursing.
2. Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities including effective workload management and resource allocation, with proven ability to manage competing demands to deliver safe effective, high-quality care for children aged 0-2 years and their families.
3. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving skills, with experience in facilitating professional development, performance management and organisational change.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of and application of current frameworks, strategies, policies, procedures, and practice standards impacting maternal and child health, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards within the context of Child and Family Health.
5. Extensive knowledge of community-based services for children and families, combined with proficient negotiation and networking skills to foster effective collaboration with stakeholders and enhance integrated service delivery across Western Sydney.
6. Demonstrated leadership in improving health outcomes for vulnerable families and children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally and linguistically diverse populations, through culturally sensitive and inclusive practice.
7. Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to represent nurses, consult with staff, resolve conflict and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health professionals.
8. Demonstrated proficient use of Information Technology and systems such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR), data analytics tools, and digital health applications for improving clinical and operational workflows, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
