Our Why
Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.
About the Role (your why)
As a Senior D365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant, you will be a key member of a complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management transformation. You will help shape and deliver the supply chain solution across procurement, product information management, inventory, warehousing, manufacturing, planning, distribution, costing and end-to-end traceability.
This is a senior, hands-on and client-facing role requiring strong D365 SCM capability, sound process judgement and the confidence to work through complex operational requirements with business stakeholders, architects, integration specialists and delivery teams. You will translate detailed business processes into a fit-to-standard, scalable solution, close critical design decisions early and maintain clear traceability from requirements through configuration, testing and deployment.
The delivery team works across Australia and New Zealand, with most project activities completed remotely and on-site attendance arranged where it adds value. You will need to work effectively across locations and time zones, remain visible and responsive to stakeholders, and collaborate closely with the wider project team.
What you’ll do
At the moment, as Senior D365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant you will be focused on:
-
Lead workshops and translate complex supply chain processes into clear, fit-to-standard D365 SCM designs and configuration outcomes.
-

-
Shape product and inventory processes covering item structures, GTINs, batches, serials, licence plates, substitutions, shelf life, quality and end-to-end traceability.
-
Define practical manufacturing and warehouse processes, including BOMs and formulas, production consumption and reporting, scanning, receiving, picking, transfers and dispatch.
-
Work with architects and technical teams on integrations with manufacturing, export, costing, logistics and other specialist operational systems.
-
Support data migration, configuration, testing, defect resolution, training, cutover, go-live and hypercare.
-
Maintain clear documentation and traceability, manage risks early and provide practical recommendations to stakeholders.
-
Build trusted stakeholder relationships, support the wider consulting team and promote Datacom’s health and safety culture.
We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.
