We are seeking a Senior Security Platform Engineer – DevSecOps to lead application security engineering and DevSecOps uplift across Optus. You’ll work closely with development, platform, architecture and security teams to embed secure-by-default practices across the software development lifecycle, automate security controls and improve the way teams deliver secure software.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead and enhance DevSecOps and secure software development lifecycle practices.
Embed security testing into development workflows.
Automate security, compliance, and software supply chain controls using policy-as-code.
Provide security expertise through code reviews, architecture reviews, and developer support.
Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with automated controls, quality gates, and assurance.
Drive security automation, platform management, governance, and continuous improvement across cloud and application environments.
WHAT MAKES YOU PERFECT FOR THE ROLE?
Relevant qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
5+ years' experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipeline development.
Strong scripting and automation expertise using Python, Bash, PowerShell, APIs, and GitOps practices.
Hands-on experience with application security, vulnerability management, and shift-left security.
Proficiency in CI/CD governance, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Policy-as-Code, repository management, and security compliance automation.
Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a focus on automation, continuous improvement, and developer enablement.
