About the role
We are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join our team as the CFO's right-hand operator and the senior finance presence across the business. In this role, you will lead commercial analysis and business partnering, own the month-end close, compliance, and treasury, and manage our offshore AP/AR team. You will play a vital role in powering our growth by collaborating with cross-functional leadership, bringing clarity to financial decision-making, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
Located in Sydney, this position is available as a part-time opportunity (~0.8 FTE), which can be structured across 4 days (with Fridays off) or shortened hours across 5 days.
Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us:

Build and maintain business-unit P&Ls, resourcing, and cost allocations to empower business leaders

Lead the annual budget process, roll-forwards, and ongoing budget-vs-actual analysis

Act as a true finance partner to technology, operations, commercial, and content leads

Coordinate sales targets, commission structures, and deliver insightful commercial analysis for SLT/ELT and board reporting

Own the month-end close timetable, balance sheet reconciliations, provisions, and accounting policy governance

Manage year-end statutory reporting, income tax returns, FBT, R&D tax incentives, and statutory compliance

Monitor cash positions, manage treasury administration, liquidity forecasting, and corporate expense card programs

Own the finance tech stack, manage the offshore AP/AR team, and oversee payroll and payments
Now, a bit about you

Strong FP&A and commercial modeling skills, including P&L builds, cost allocation, and budgeting

Proven ability to business-partner with non-finance stakeholders and confidently present insights to leadership

Experience managing, supporting, and overseeing work completed by offshore processing teams

Tech-savvy with experience in Xero, Employment Hero, ApprovalMax, Google Suite, and Monday CRM, with a curiosity for leveraging AI tools like Claude and Gemini

A proactive, autonomous operator who thrives in a lean, dynamic, and fast-paced team environment

High attention to detail with strong commercial acumen and a passion for continuous process improvement
