We are looking for a highly experienced Technical Lead to act as the driving force behind our engineering team. In this role, you will be the technical authority for our health tech platform, taking deep ownership of system design, architecture, and technical strategy across our entire stack (Vue.js, Node.js, AWS, DynamoDB).You will tackle the most complex coding challenges, serve as a mentor for our development team, and act as the primary technical bridge between engineering, product leadership, and external integration partners.
You will ensure our architecture scales securely to meet the rigorous demands of the healthcare sector while keeping engineering leadership informed on system health and progress.Demonstrate exceptional communication skills across customer and internal stakeholder interactions, coupled with the ability to autonomously manage small projects end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Authority & Architecture: Own the end-to-end architecture of our platform. Make high-level design choices, define technical standards, and ensure the system is scalable, resilient, and highly performant.
- Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Owner to translate business requirements into technical execution. Collaborate directly with external B2B partners' technical teams to architect, scope, and troubleshoot seamless integrations.
- Technical Reporting: Surface engineering velocity, system health, and technical debt to engineering leadership (CTO/VP). Provide realistic estimates and clear technical roadmaps to keep projects on track.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and elevate the engineering team. Lead code reviews, unblock developers, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
- Hands-on Development: Lead by example by writing clean, maintainable code for the most critical, complex, or core components of the system.
- Cloud & Data Strategy: Design robust, secure AWS architectures (utilizing services like Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, IAM) and optimize DynamoDB data modeling for scale and compliance.
- Quality & Security: Act as the ultimate gatekeeper for code quality and security, ensuring all development adheres to strict healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) and data protection best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead technical role.
- Full Stack Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Node.js for robust backend services and Vue.js for scalable frontend architectures.
- Systems Design: Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and API design.
- Database Mastery: Strong background in advanced NoSQL data modeling and performance tuning, specifically with Amazon DynamoDB.
- Cloud Architecture: Extensive, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing complex infrastructure within AWS, ideally utilizing Infrastructure as Code.
- Stakeholder Communication: Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts and constraints into plain language for Product Owners and internal stakeholders.
- Integration Support: Experience interfacing directly with external developers or B2B partners to manage API integrations and resolve technical blockers.
- Leadership: Proven ability to gain consensus, drive technical decisions, act as a decisive technical authority, and mentor engineers.
