Introduction:
ACEREZ is a consortium, comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy which has been appointed Preferred Network Operator by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission line network for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ).
The new state-of-art transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, digitally enabled energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Maintenance Supervisor your role will be to lead and coordinate the substation maintenance teams activities at the Merotherie and Elong Elong Energy Hubs and the eight H2P switching stations, covering both HV primary plant and Protection, Control and Metering secondary systems. This role plays a critical part in leading the crew on site, holding switching and access authority, and ensuring the safe, compliant and right-first-time delivery of the substation work program, including first response to faults.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires close coordination with the Maintenance Planners, Primary and Secondary System Technicians and Engineers, as well as external contractors to ensure precise execution of testing, configuration, and maintenance activities. The role also plays a key part in:
- oversee the execution of maintenance for Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, Instrument Transformers, High Voltage Circuit Breakers, Earthing Switches, Surge Arresters and Synchronous Condensors
- support early-stage project delivery during construction and commissioning phases, including the validation of interface designs, development of testing procedures, and coordination of primary system readiness prior to energisation
- supervise, coach and support the substation crew - HV Electricians, Protection & Control Technicians and apprentices - promoting best practice, technical development and field verification of competency
- ensure all maintenance activities prioritise Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards, placing people and asset integrity at the core of all decisions.
- support commissioning and operational handover of new assets, including contributing to the development of maintenance processes and procedures.
Skills and Experiences:
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate III in ESI or equivalent trade. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, supported by relevant field experience.
Practical knowledge of HV (330 kV) and EHV (500 kV) substation primary plant and of secondary systems — protection relays, SCADA/RTU, control, automation and metering
Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with EHS procedures, test plans, and regulatory standards.
Valid NSW Driver’s Licence, required for mobility across field locations.
Experience with HV substation maintenance in a transmission or utility environment, with demonstrated crew leadership and switching authority.
