Provisional Psychologist – Full-Time

Essential Health Services is seeking a motivated and compassionate Provisional Psychologist to join our growing interprofessional allied health team in the South Burnett region of Queensland.
This is a full-time position offering a structured pathway towards general registration, a manageable clinical workload and the opportunity to work with a diverse regional caseload.

We support clients through a range of funding and referral pathways, including the NDIS, WorkCover Queensland, DVA, private referrals and community-funded programs.
About the Role
The successful applicant will provide psychological assessment, counselling, intervention, therapeutic support and report writing under appropriate supervision and in accordance with AHPRA requirements.
The role will primarily support NDIS participants while also providing services to WorkCover, private, DVA and other funded clients.
Services may be delivered through:
- Face-to-face consultations
- Telehealth appointments
- Clinic-based services
- Home and community visits
- Regional outreach services
The position is full-time at 38 hours per week and includes a maximum expectation of five client sessions per day, with remaining time allocated to administration, supervision, travel, report writing, professional development and stakeholder liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions under supervision
- Conduct psychological assessments and screenings
- Develop treatment plans and intervention strategies
- Provide individual therapeutic support
- Prepare reports, treatment plans and professional correspondence
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
- Liaise with clients, families, support coordinators, referrers and other professionals
- Participate in clinical discussions, case reviews and supervision
- Support NDIS participants to work towards their identified goals
- Provide services to WorkCover, private, DVA and other funded clients
- Travel between EHS locations and undertake community outreach where required
- Maintain professional, ethical and regulatory standards
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Current or eligible AHPRA provisional registration as a psychologist
- Relevant qualifications in psychology
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- A commitment to progressing towards general registration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently under appropriate supervision
- A current Australian driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one
- A National Police Check
- An NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain one
- A Working with Children Check/Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:
- NDIS therapeutic supports
- Psychological assessment and report writing
- Working with children, adolescents and families
- Telehealth service delivery
- Rural or regional health care
- Disability, psychosocial or behavioural support
