Details: Do you have an eye for detail and a background in building, construction, infrastructure, facilities and asset management?
The Strategic Infrastructure section within the Asset Management and Delivery (AMD) Branch of the Education Directorate (EDU) provides strategic facility and asset management planning and advice for a large and diverse portfolio of ACT public schools and EDU facilities.
The Asset Strategies team within the section is seeking applications for two Condition Assessment Auditors to work in the Asset Strategies team.
You will primarily undertake property and infrastructure asset identification and condition assessments of schools to support the ongoing improvement and operation of the organisation's Asset Management Software System (AMSS). The positions are actively involved in the development and delivery of asset management strategies, property and asset data, policies, procedures and reporting by fostering innovation and driving continuous information improvement.
Applicants require experience in building facilities construction, operations and maintenance, particularly in relation to the application of strategic and operational asset management principles; a proven ability to use complex software systems, including asset management software; strong attention to detail; high level oral and written communication skills; and demonstrated stakeholder management, negotiation, and liaison skills.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Mandatory:

Hold a relevant professional qualification in Building/Construction, Engineering, Architecture or Project Management, or
-
Accreditation with a relevant professional body recognised within Australia; or
-
Hold a relevant building degree; or
-
Have significant building and/or infrastructure management knowledge and/or operational strategic asset management experience.
Highly desirable:
Possession of a Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card), Asbestos Awareness training certificate and Working with Vulnerable People Card or willingness to complete the required training and a current Drivers Licence.
Note: This is a temporary position available from 3 August 2026 to 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future similar vacancies during this term.
The role will work as part of the Strategic Infrastructure and Sustainability team. The team works flexibly from EDU offices across the ACT, from home and at schools according to operational requirements.
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
