About Renal Technical Services
Renal Technical Services is part of the Department of Nephrology that provides dialysis services to over 320 chronic patients and acute patients when required in ICU and CCU. The Renal Technical Services Unit is currently located in North Wing on the Repatriation Campus. RTS provides comprehensive technical support and educational requirements to dialysis staff and patients. The services is self-contained and has equipment located at both Austin and Repatriation Campuses, Remote Satellites and Home settings in both metropolitan and country areas.
About the role
The Renal Technician supports the Austin Health dialysis units and home dialysis patients as well as the regional sites within our catchment to ensure correct operation of equipment and services.
A regular day will see you:
Ensure the proper and accurate running of the total equipment system
Identify and exchange faulty assemblies
Bench repair of sub-assemblies
Attend and shift equipment to a variety of locations
Maintain reports on servicing, repair and breakdown of equipment.
About you
As the Renal Technician, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
A tertiary qualification in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering
Innovative approach to problem solving
Hold and maintain a current driver’s license
Flexible in working hours and location
