We are looking for an experienced and driven ICT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects across our organisation. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, a solid understanding of ICT systems and infrastructure, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities within budget and timeline constraints. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and oversee end-to-end delivery of ICT projects, ensuring milestones, objectives, and deliverables are met within agreed timeframes and budgets
- Analyse organisational information needs and specify appropriate technology solutions to address those requirements effectively
- Formulate and contribute to ICT strategies, policies, and plans that align with broader business goals and digital transformation initiatives
- Direct the selection, procurement, and installation of ICT resources, including software, hardware, and infrastructure, and coordinate relevant user training programmes
- Manage project resources, scheduling, and task prioritisation, allocating team members and contractors to maximise efficiency and project outcomes
- Set priorities across system development, maintenance, and operational activities, balancing short-term demands with long-term strategic objectives
- Oversee the security and integrity of ICT systems, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, data governance frameworks, and relevant legislative requirements
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating where necessary to ensure continuity of delivery
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk registers, and post-implementation reviews
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party service providers to manage expectations, resolve impediments, and maintain clear lines of communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project budgets, track expenditure, and provide regular financial reporting to senior leadership and governance committees
- Champion continuous improvement by conducting lessons-learnt reviews and embedding better practices across the project delivery function
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience (typically 3–5 years) managing ICT projects of varying scale and complexity within a corporate or government environment
- Proficiency in project management methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, software development lifecycles, systems integration, and enterprise technology environments
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resource plans, and project schedules using tools such as MS Project, Jira, or equivalent platforms
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to risk and issue management
- Experience preparing and presenting project governance documentation, business cases, and status reports to senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships effectively
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data privacy obligations, and relevant Australian regulatory frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification
- ITIL Foundation certification or experience working within ITIL-aligned service environments
- Experience delivering projects within Agile or hybrid delivery models
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience in change management practices and supporting organisational technology transitions
- Exposure to enterprise resource planning (ERP) or large-scale system implementation projects
- Prior experience working within highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government
