Job Description:
The purpose of the Business & Commercial Development team is to lead the identification, development and delivery of commercial and strategic opportunities that strengthen bp's supply network, maximise integrated value across the supply chain, and position bp for long-term competitiveness and growth.
The Commercial Development Advisor is a key enabler that will lead the identification, assessment and implementation of commercial optimisation opportunities within, and across, the operational interface between local and regional supply & trading teams. This role will contribute to the continued evolution of the Midstream business through the development and delivery of transformational initiatives across all key AU supply envelopes.
Responsibilities
Lead the identification and assessment of supply and infrastructure commercial optimisation opportunities and act as commercial Single Point of Accountability (SPA) on project activities.
Contribute to internal governance for the investment decisions on strategic projects, including leading commercial development and economic modelling in accordance with bp defined processes.
Lead the development and execution of the ANZ Midstream transformation strategy for AU assets to deliver medium to long-term competitiveness for bp
Partner across Midstream, regional supply trading teams and supporting functions to identify and deliver integrated supply chain optimisation opportunities that enhance network performance and value.
Contribute to the buy/sell supply negotiations process with other fuels suppliers ensuring term supply deals are aligned to business objectives. This may include:
Analyse and provide insights on supply-demand dynamics and logistics constraints to support commercial decisions that maximises total integrated margin opportunities.
Manage commercial agreements, and associated risks, to ensure contractual compliance, value protection and effective collaborator management outcomes.
Support/lead the development, negotiation and execution of strategic commercial agreements with external counterparties.
Holding supply and trading delegations.
Informal leadership to support development of others within direct team and across the Midstream business.
Qualifications
Strong business partnership management and communication skills with ability to influence technical and commercial decision-makers at all levels of the organisation.
In-depth understanding of the fuel industry and supply chain knowledge, including integrated value delivery.
Highly developed commercial acumen and strategic foresight
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to draw insights and actions from diverse data sources.
Demonstrated personal resilience and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Take accountability for outcomes, proactively drives work forward and consistently delivers high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
You will work with
Direct team members and all other teams within the Midstream business, e.g. B2B, Supply, Infrastructure, Logistics, Pricing, etc.
All relevant commercial and technical peers within other businesses, e.g. Airbp, Marine, Mobility & Convenience, etc.
Regional traders and broader commercial teams across the lights and distillate trading benches, including originators, and supply coordinators.
All relevant functional teams, e.g. Legal, Finance, Gov. Affairs, S&OR, etc.
External counterparties, e.g. industry suppliers, 3P infrastructure / service providers.
