HunterNet Career Connections is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to commence an Electronics Apprenticeship with our host company, Northern Instrument & Calibration Services, based in Warabrook.

Northern Instrument & Calibration Services specialises in the calibration, repair and sale of testing and measuring instruments used across a diverse range of industries, including mining, manufacturing, health services and defence.
About the Role
As a Calibration Technician, you’ll receive hands-on training and mentoring while developing practical skills in precision measurement, calibration and instrument servicing.
Your duties will include:
- Performing calibration, functional testing and basic fault finding of electronic test and measurement equipment under supervision.
- Preparing, inspecting and verifying customer instruments, while accurately recording calibration data, equipment condition and test results.
- Using calibration procedures, reference standards and laboratory software to produce traceable calibration records and certificates.
- Learning and applying calibration principles, including uncertainty, tolerances, pass/fail criteria and quality system requirements.
- Assisting with repairs, adjustments, cleaning and the safe handling of instruments.
- Supporting equipment logistics, quotations, bookings and customer communication as required.
- Expanding your technical skills through structured training across electronics, electrical/HV, pressure and pneumatics, mechanical and temperature disciplines.
- Maintaining a safe, organised laboratory and contributing to quality assurance, continuous improvement and team activities.
- Completing all required competencies through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

You will have:
- A genuine interest in electronics, calibration, testing and technical problem-solving.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
- A reliable, professional and safety-focused approach to work.
- Good computer skills and a willingness to learn calibration management software.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning.
- A current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
Please note: This position is laboratory based, however there may be the opportunity for supervised site work.
