About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Australian Shipbuilder joint venture between ASC and BAE, supporting the delivery of one of Australia's most significant defence programs, SSN-AUKUS. As the Supplier Quality Assurance Lead, you will play an important role in establishing and embedding supplier quality assurance frameworks, governance processes and assurance activities that support a world-class supply chain. Working across internal teams and industry partners, you will help drive supplier performance, quality compliance and continuous improvement as the organisation builds capability for the future.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Supplier Quality Assurance processes, systems and governance frameworks.
- Lead the development of the SQA Audit Program, and conduct supplier qualification, onboarding, auditing and periodic requalification activities to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and support the resolution of supplier quality issues.
- Manage supplier non-conformances, including root cause investigations and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and industry partners to promote quality excellence across the supply chain.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and provide reporting, insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of quality management systems aligned to recognised standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality assurance and quality auditing, ideally within defence, complex manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards, including ISO 9001 and related frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience assessing, qualifying and auditing suppliers while driving measurable quality and performance improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing non-conformances, root cause analysis and CAPA activities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence suppliers and cross-functional teams.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
