This is an opportunity to lead from the front in a technology organisation that builds software powering critical infrastructure used every day across Australia. Working in close partnership with a Product Manager, you'll guide an agile team through the full lifecycle of designing, building and delivering cloud-native products that are robust, scalable and genuinely impactful.
You won't just be managing, you'll be building. This role balances technical leadership with hands-on contribution to design, development and code, giving you the chance to stay close to the technology while shaping the direction of the product and the growth of the people around you. You'll work alongside other Engineering Leads and senior leadership to drive architectural decisions, promote strong engineering practices, and continuously improve how the team works.
If you're someone who thrives on mentoring others, championing good engineering practice, and having real input into product direction rather than just following a backlog, this role offers exactly that kind of ownership.

- Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure product quality, security, reliability and performance
- Contribute directly to design, development, and test automation of applications, microservices and APIs
- Collaborate with other Engineering Leads to identify and drive technology and process improvements

- Support system rollouts, commissioning and user training alongside technical and consulting teams
- Document and share outcomes to build repeatable, automated practices across the team
- Mentor and coach team members to support their ongoing growth and development
