The Role
We're seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our National Electrical Engineering team, with a focus on contributing to medium voltage (11kV–66kV) power distribution, substation and electrical projects across Australia and the broader region.
This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining hands-on technical design with project delivery and collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing
As an experienced engineer within our Electrical team, you will:

Contribute to the design and delivery of medium voltage electrical infrastructure projects across sectors including transport, utilities, industrial, defence and data centres.

Provide sound technical input, undertake design reviews and support quality assurance under the guidance of senior technical leaders.

Support successful project outcomes through effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

Help resolve technical challenges involving power distribution, substations, protection systems, network integration and power system performance.

Develop positive working relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.

Contribute to proposals, tenders and technical presentations.

Share knowledge with developing engineers and contribute to capability building within the national electrical practice.

Ideally, You’ll Have

A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Relevant experience in consulting, utility, industrial or infrastructure environments, with demonstrated involvement in electrical engineering project delivery.

Experience contributing to medium voltage and power distribution projects across multiple design stages.

Demonstrated experience with:
-
Medium Voltage (typically 11kV-66kV) distribution systems.
-
Zone, terminal or customer substations.
-
Protection and control systems.
-
Earthing and lighting protection designs.
-
Power system modelling.
-
Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, codes and regulatory requirements.

Experience with HV and LV power distribution systems.

Experience undertaking load flow studies, fault analysis, protection coordination studies, power quality studies.

Proficiency with tools such as ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerCad, Revit or similar platforms.
