Monadelphous is seeking experienced Project Accountant/Cost Controller to support upcoming major construction projects. This role will work closely with the project team throughout both planning and delivery.
You will play a critical part in providing financial oversight for a high-profile, large-scale project, ensuring accurate cost control, forecasting, reporting and compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project accounting activities, including cost tracking, invoicing, progress claims and budget review.
- Develop and maintain control budgets and estimates aligned with project scope and work breakdown structures.
- Prepare accurate and timely project cost reports, including forecasting, cost performance evaluations and variance analysis.
- Perform Earned Value Management (EVM), including Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Review, assess and support cost change management including variations and claims.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Commercial Managers to ensure accurate reporting and financial insight for decision-making.
- Prepare month-end accounting activities such as accruals, provisions, allocations and cost transfers.
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to the wider project team.
- Prepare monthly management reports and present outcomes to senior stakeholders.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- CPA or CMA certification (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in project accounting / cost control role in a construction environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting / cost control principles and practices
- Experience with project accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- InEight experience highly regarded
