About the role
Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO), the Sales and Marketing Manager will play a key leadership role in developing and executing SAHE's sales, marketing and student recruitment strategies. The position will have direct accountability for achieving agreed student recruitment and enrolment targets, developing and managing education agent and B2B networks, identifying new market opportunities, and leading the recruitment and marketing team to deliver measurable results. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who combines strategic thinking with strong execution capability and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven higher education environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective recruitment strategies to achieve agreed student enrolment targets across domestic and international markets
- Build, manage and strengthen relationships with education agents, institutional partners and other recruitment channels, with clear expectations around performance, quality and compliance
- Maintain oversight of the recruitment pipeline from lead generation and applications through to offers, enrolments and conversion, identifying opportunities to improve conversion at each stage
- Lead, motivate and manage recruitment and marketing team members, establishing clear targets, priorities, accountability and performance expectations
- Identify and develop new markets, recruitment channels, partnerships and commercial opportunities that support SAHE's growth strategy
- Plan and coordinate targeted digital, B2B, agent and student recruitment campaigns across relevant channels and markets
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, student demand, source-country developments and recruitment performance to inform future strategy
- Support the development of high-quality marketing collateral, digital content and campaigns that effectively communicate SAHE's courses, value proposition and institutional brand
- Monitor recruitment expenditure, campaign effectiveness, agent performance, conversion rates and return on investment
- Provide regular recruitment forecasts, pipeline reports, performance analysis and recommendations to the Chief Growth Officer and executive management
About you
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Business, International Relations or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
- At least 3 years' relevant experience in sales, marketing, business development, education agent management or international student recruitment, preferably within the Australian higher education or international education sector
- Demonstrated experience in achieving student recruitment, sales or business growth targets
- Experience developing and managing domestic and/or international education agent and B2B networks
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage a results-focused team
- Strong sales, negotiation, presentation and stakeholder-management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across different cultures and markets
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence working with recruitment pipelines, targets, conversion rates and performance data
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution
- A sound understanding of the Australian international education environment and relevant regulatory obligations will be highly regarded
