The Opportunity:
- Full-time | Ongoing contract of employment.
- EDC1-3 ($126,410 - $132,290) per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The Faculty of Health Science, Community and Social Studies (HSCSS) at Holmesglen provides a progressive, innovative, and supportive teaching environment with strong professional links and partnerships within the health, science, and community services sector. The faculty offers courses from Certificate III through to degree programs in nursing, dental, health, aged care, disability, allied health, science, and a range of community services and justice courses.
Holmesglen is a recognised leader in the delivery of simulation-based education both locally and internationally, with world-class simulation facilities at Moorabbin and Chadstone campuses — preparing nursing, health, and allied health students for professional practice and attracting high-quality industry partners.
The Bachelor of Nursing program collaborates closely with key internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive support for students throughout their academic journey. The program is delivered by a highly qualified and diverse academic team with expertise across various nursing specialties, supported by professional staff including administration, simulation, and clinical placement personnel — collectively ensuring a robust and student-centred learning environment.
This role forms an integral part of the Bachelor of Nursing (BN) Leadership Team, operating in close consultation with the Head of School, the BN Course Lead – Academic Operations, and key internal and external stakeholders. With a particular focus on effective coordination and support of Bachelor of Nursing students, the position plays a vital role in fostering a high-quality educational experience that promotes student success, wellbeing, and progression throughout the course of study. The successful candidate may also be required to undertake teaching duties including lectures, tutorials, or practical sessions, depending on program needs.
As a Course Lead – Student Lifecycle (Bachelor of Nursing), you will:
- Act as the central coordination point for the in-course student lifecycle within the BN program, promoting a learner-centred experience through evidence-based, contemporary teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Design, oversee, and continuously improve course-level orientation and early engagement initiatives, identifying and addressing barriers to engagement to enhance student experience, belonging, and success.
- Provide guidance, advice, and mediation support to students on course progress and academic responsibilities, acting as a key escalation point for complex student matters and applying a strong understanding of grievance procedures.
- Monitor student feedback trends and academic progress to identify patterns and risk, implementing proactive, stakeholder-informed strategies to support at-risk students and those in need of additional support.
- Liaise with the Course Lead – Academic Operations, Subject Coordinators, Placement, Simulation, and Clinical Educators, including contributing to course timetabling, to ensure consistent and high-quality learning experiences and placements.
- Participate in the ongoing development, enhancement, and implementation of the undergraduate nursing curriculum, collaborating with faculty and stakeholders to reflect current best practice and the evolving needs of the nursing profession.
- Deliver engaging lectures and teaching sessions as required, adapting to student needs across academic and clinical environments.
- Actively contribute to applied research and participate as the Academic Member of the Bachelor of Nursing Student Representative Council (SRC), fostering student voice and a culture of continuous scholarly engagement.
To be successful, you'll have:
Minimum
- Degree in Nursing.
- Relevant post-graduate qualification in nursing or related discipline.
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with Ahpra.
- Post-graduate teaching course in higher education, or equivalent work experience.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
Preferred
- Relevant PhD/Professional Doctorate (or demonstrated progress towards completion).
- Extensive experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Australia.
- Extensive experience in Higher Education
- Experience in managing higher education programs
- Experience in managing people and leading teams
