What you'll be responsible for
Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, you'll own the end-to-end financial accounting function for the Australian business and deliver for the Citation HR and Citation Legal business units. The role has two direct reports and close ties to finance manager peers across the Group. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):-
- Lead the monthly management reporting pack and own month-end close across the full P&L and balance sheet
- Act as a finance partner to executive leaders, giving them the revenue, margin and customer retention insights to make sharper calls and decisions
- Take full ownership of trust accounting compliance for including records, reconciliations and reporting
- Oversee insurance coverage and contract management across the division, liaising with Group legal, brokers and external advisors
- Lead preparation and activities to the year-end audit and keep the internal control environment tight
- Represent Finance as the key SME on projects including Finance Systems implementation for lead-to-cash processing
- Use AI to enhance day-to-day activities including developing continuing process improvements and synthesising financial data for review
Who we're looking for
You will be a qualified CA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) with a proven track record in financial accounting or as a Financial Controller.
You will bring:
- Experience ideally within a professional services, SaaS or subscription-based business
- Strong technical accounting skills across month-end close, consolidations, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting
- Confident, appropriate use of AI tools to support day-to-day work
- Clear, confident communication skills, capable to engage senior non-finance stakeholders
- High attention to detail and personal commitment to quality
- Comfortable with ambiguity, exercising sound judgement independently
- Collaborative, team-oriented, proactive and self-motivated
- The ability to work to tight reporting deadlines without cutting corners on accuracy
Bonus points for:
- Experience in a PE-backed, multi-entity or divisional finance structure
- Exposure to customer contract administration and insurance management
- A track record supporting financial process improvement or systems implementation
